Bogota Board of Education

 17-January-2024 

On Tuesday-16-January the Bogota Board of Education held their second meeting for January.
  In his report Superintendent Mr. Damien Kennedy had a number of announcements.  Superintendent Kennedy first said there will be a fifth anniversary event for the Bogota Pre-School program. This will take place on Tuesday-30 January at Steen School. It will start at 5:00p and is for the former Pre-School Students and their Families. Next was that the Middle School will hold a Winter concert on Monday-22- January. This will start at 6:30p in the Middle School. He also informed the Trustees that new equipment in the High School Cafeteria has been installed.  This was funded by the Heathy Meal Incentive grant. All useable equipment was transfer to Steen or the Middle School.  The charging station for the new Electric bus has been installed at the Recreation Center. 15 vape detections units have been installed in the High School and 8 in the Middle School. Administration meetings are under way for a redistricting plan for the Public School.  Informational meetings for the Residents will be announced in the near future. 
  Then the Board of Trustees voted on the consent agenda. All resolutions were passed by unanimous vote.  Items of note were: The approval of School Field Trips, Mr. Edwin Fiscal as an Assistant Wrestling Coach, and the use of the Middle School Gym for the Ridgefield Park Soccer Assocation practices.
   The next Board of Education Meeting will be on Tuesday-13-February. It is scheduled to start at 7:00p. It will be a hybrid meeting with in-person attendance and available online. The in-person meeting will be held at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ The meeting is open to the Public.
