On Saturday-3-January, the Isabel School of Dance opened their new dance studio at 36 A W. Ft. Lee Rd. in Bogota. This is run by Ms. Isabel Bustamante who started her school in the Fall of 2021. Their first studio space was in the Bogota Memorial School’s lower level. With the expansion of the Bogota School District Pre-School program the School of Dance needed to find a new location.
Over the past few years what was know as the Bogota Antique District on W. Ft. Lee Rd.. The business changed from Antique and Collectables, to Crafts and other services store fronts.
Three companies have stayed, Ace Tekk Auto Body Shop, Scholastic Culinary Services, and Book Link (they have moved across the street to # 32 W. Ft. Lee Rd.)
First of the new tenants were Roe Luxe Florist, Beetch Barn Craft and Sip, Black Sheep Barbell, and JJB Gold, with Branch and Bloom Daycare still set to open.
With a signed lease Isabel School of Dance quickly created a welcoming and warm studio space. One wall is paneled with floor length mirrors with the opposite wall having a dance bar, this allows for a long and wide area for the dancers and instructors to move in.
In the weeks running up to the Grand Opening Isabel School of Dance offered a wide range of trial classes. These included Ballet, Tap, Tango, Hip Hop, and other forms of movement to show the variety of dance available.
The day of the opening Ms. Bustamante, and her Instructors welcome a number of Friends and Family along with current and possible new Students. Also attending was Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede who said that who said she congratulate Isabel for being able to open her dream project, and wishes both Borough residents, and those from outside of Bogota come in and experience an opportunity to learn to dance.
After the ribbon was cut those in attendance had a chance to try a few dance moves. From the
youngest Students learning to move in time with the music, slightly older Children playing under a rainbow canopy to Adults being taught a few Salsa steps.
Later in the evening, free Salsa lessons were available, then turning into a “Salsa Social” to continue the dancing into the evening.
