Board of Education

8-January-2016 

   On Thursday 7- January the Bogota Board of Education had its annual reorganization meeting.  At this time  the three candidates who receive the most vote for  the November elections were sworn into office.  The three, in descending order, were Eileen Lewis with 644 votes, Kathryn Van Buren with 609, and Jo-Ellen Granquist with 539 votes. Ms Van Buren ran as the only incumbent, while Ms. Lewis & Ms. Granquist  ran for the first time. 
   When the Board were seated they elected Charles Severino as Board President and Pat McHale as  Vice President. The rest of the meeting was used to past agenda items that deal the standard operation of the Board of Education. The only change made was to move the 11-October meeting to Tuesday 4- October. 
  The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday 19- January at 7:30p. This will be held in the Bogota high School Cafeteria located on the second floor of the High School at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. This meeting will be open to the public.
