  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

    The Bogota VFW Post #5561 will host their annual Loyalty Day program.They will award the winners of the "Voice of Democracy" and "Patriot's Pen" essay contest. They will also display the work of  the colouring contest for the younger Students. This will be held in the Main Hall located at 240 Leonia Ave Bogota, NJ. This is open to the Public and  is a free event.  This will take place in the Main Hall and start at 7:00p. There will be a local singing group providing live entertainment and a flag presentation.  Then the winners of the Patriots Pen and "Voice of Democracy" writing competition will be announced.  The winning essays will be read aloud and the writers will be given their awards.

 The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office.   Bogota Beautiful will host their first Saturday of Yoga in the Park for May and June.  These will take place each Saturday in May and June and will be held in Olsen Park.  The class will run from 9:00a to 10:00a and be led by a Yoga instructor. They will be held in Olsen Park in Bogota. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or  experience.  The classes will meet at the Bandshell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the bandshell or on the lawn in front of the bandshell. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn. Ridgefield Park, NJ
    Members of  VFW Post  #5561 will serve as assistants to the “ The Moving Wall” when it comes to Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park NJ. 
  The Moving Wall" is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for thirty plus years.  This was a project begun by John Devitt after he attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of "The Wall." He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.
   Mr Devitt along with Norris Shears, Gerry Haver, and other Vietnam veteran volunteers built The Moving Wall. It went on display for the first time in Tyler, Texas in October of 1984. Two structures of The Moving Wall now travel the USA from April through November, spending about a week at each site.  For more information about " The Moving Wall" please visit their website at: www.themovingwall.org

    The Bogota High School Fine Arts dept will hold its Spring Concert starting at at 7:00p This will feature both the Women's & Men's Choir as well as the La-De-Da's.  There will also be  performances by  the Concert Band and the Jazz band.   The Bogota Police Emergency Service Youth Academy  will be  accepting applications of Student who will be entering grades 6,7 &8  for the school year starting in September 2016.  Applications will be available for pick-up starting at 7:00a. at the Bogota Police Headquarters ( or at the W.Broad St. firehouse). 
    Over the past several years the line to pick up application has starting forming one to two hours before the starting time. It is recommended that the Student themselves pick-up the application, this helps show the Academy officials that the Student is serious about being apart of the Youth Academy.  After that date application may be pick-up at Police Headquarters.  Applications must be returned to  Police Headquarters.
  There is a nominal fee for those Cadet who will be accepted into Class 06.    The Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy has been developing the Students of Bogota, and is recognized one of the finest youth programs in Northern New Jersey.This program  is becoming  an important part in the the education of Bogota Students.

   Steen School will hold their 4th annual Tricky Tray raffle at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ridgefield Park.  Proceeds from this event will go to help fund the Steen PTO. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  Admission includes a buffet dinner along with refreshments and desserts. A cash bar will be available. This is open to any gamer who wishes to test their Pokemon skills.   Anyone who wishes to compete must have  A Nintendo 3DS or 2DS fully charged ready to go. A copy of either Pokemon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon X, or Pokemon Y (Please note, you must have a saved game file with 6 Pokemon to compete)

 Weekend 27- 31-May
   This is Memorial Day weekend several closing have been announced. 
   - The Bogota Public Library will be closed on Saturday 28-May -Monday 30-May. They will reopen on Tuesday 31- May with regular Business hours.
   - The Schools of the Bogota Public School will be closed starting on Friday-27-May - Tuesday 31-May.  These are unused snow days from this Winter. Regular session will resume on Wednesday 1-June. 
  - St. Joseph's School will be closed  on  Friday-27-May.  Regular session will resume on Tuesday 31-May. 
  - Trinity Lutheran School  will be closed starting on Friday-27-May - Tuesday 31-May.   Regular session will resume on Wednesday 1-June. 
  - Bogart School will be closed on Monday 30-May,
  - There will be no lawn waste collection on Monday-30-May
 - Borough Hall offices will be closed on Monday-30-May

   The Bogota Public Library will host a program to assist Parents on talking to their Children about the use of alcohol and drug use. This is in partnership with the New Jersey Council on alcoholism and drug abuse.
