Board of Education

24-January-2019
On Tuesday-22- January the Bogota Board of Education held their second meeting for the month of January. The board approved of the items that were part of the Consent Agenda from the 15- January meeting.  The agenda items  at this meeting was the resignation of the School  Systems Technology Coordinator effective 15-February-2019. And to approve the submission  of the application  for additional Pre-School aid  for the next year.  Superintendent Damion Kennedy said that this  application would allow the Public Schools to add two more pre-schools class for the 2019-20 school year.  These and all other agenda items were passed.
When the meeting was opened for new business discussion Trustee Michael Connors ask the Board, and the Superintendent to consider two things. One was to allow for the videoing of the Board meeting and have Public access to them on the Board of Education web site. He felt that the Students currently recording the morning announcement could also record the meeting as part of their education, as well as possible receiving Community Service credit. Mr. Connors other point was to allow he to speak on the Boards behave to the PTO's of the other Schools in the district. He would like to present an idea for a Youth Club for the Students of Bogota. The Board agreed to let he speak to the School PTO'S representing the Board of Education.
The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-5-February and is scheduled to start at 7:00p. This will take place in the Cafeteria of Bogota High School located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl Bogota, NJ. This meeting is open to the public.
