Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the week starting on  Sunday-13-January. Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing 

  Starting on Sunday-1 July-2018 the Borough of Bogota will change the ordnance in what can be recycled. Bottle & cans recycling pick-up the Borough of Bogota will now be limited to: Aluminium, Glass, Bi-metal/Tin cans. Aluminium foils and pie plates will be accepted but must be clean. Plastic Containers with the symbol  1, 2, or 5  only  will also be accepted.   All recyclable material must be placed in  reusable trash receptacles.  Items places in plastic bag will not be collected. Paper and cardboard recycling remains unchanged.
   The  collectible the products that have been removed from the accepted list will now be accepted by The Borough of Bogota in cooperation with the Ridgefield Park  environmental commission and collected in a separate way. The Trex Corporation has provided bins to accept the following item. Grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrapping, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, zip lock & other re-seal able bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. All  recyclable materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. For every 500 pounds of plastic collected the Trex Corporation will donate a new park bench, made from recycled materials. The benches will be donated to both Bogota and Ridgfield Park on a rotating basis. As of now a Trex collection bin is in the lobby of the Bogota Borough Hall and  the Bogota Public Library can be accessed  during  regular business hours. More bins are planned for other locations in the future.
  The collection day under the new rules will be Thursday-5-July (due to the Fourth of July Holiday) Then every other Wednesday.

The Bogota Public  Library will have their Youth's Sewing Club meeting.  This is  open to  Students ages 9-18.  This will teach anyone the art of sewing. There will be a chance to learn machine, and hand sewing as well as shown different project and types of material.  The Bogota Public Library will present its next  Food for Thought Book discussion night  This will feature "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson.  This is a free event with the book available at the Library.

The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

The Bogota Board of Education meeting  for December.  This is schedule to he held in the Bogota High School Cafeteria. The meeting is schedule to start at 7:00p . This is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota. NJ

Wednesday & Thursday-16 &17- January

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a. También habrá Historias leídas en español en este momento. This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner. The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:00p.  The this meeting there will the official start of the  Borough of Bogota's 125th Anniversary celebration This will be held in the Senior Centre located on the second floor  of 375 Larch Ave. Bogota NJ   This meeting is open to the public.

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. Saturday-19-January

The Bogota  Public Library  host their Pilates class . This is open to anyone who wished to learn, train in the Pilates method.  This will be a one hour session starting at 12:00 noon. a and be held in the second floor Senior Centre. The  class will be led by Deborah Glassford from the Spa at Glenpointe.  Participants must  be over 18 years old, and wear comfortable losse fitting clothers.
