Bogota Bucs Basketball

 On Saturday-12-January the Bogota Men's Basketball Bucs hosted the Dover Tigers on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym. Dover would score the first two Points of the game. Bogota answered back with a Three Point basket. This would be the opening salvo of a barrage of scores from beyond the arc. The Bucs would finish the game with a total of 16 Three Point Baskets.  By the end of the first quater Bogota would have a twelve point lead. In the second quater Bogota would reach the Half Century mark with less then two minutes left on the clock, coming from another Three point shot, and go into the locker room with a 54-28. This session was punctuated with two Ashanti Caviness dunks.
 After the restart the teams would trade points, with the Tigers getting a slight edge.  Dover's Rafael Castro would run the baseline and  also score on  a dunk for the Tigers. Bogota would win this scoring parade by the score of 80-61.  Rafael Castro would lead all scorers with 21 points. He and Will Finch would have 2 Three Point baskets for the Tigers. Taj Collins would be the Bogota high scorer with 19 points. All but one of Mr. Collins points would come off of three point baskets. The other Three Point Scorers for Bogota would be Argenis Soriano with 4, Ashanti Caviness with 3, Evan Meberg with 2, and Kenijee Polanco with 1. Bogota's record is now 8-2. They next play on Monday-14-January against Hawthorne Christian Academy. This will be home on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym, with a tip-off time scheduled for 7:00p.
