Bogota Varsity Sports

   Results of the games played by  Varsity teams from Bogota on Tuesday-14-January. The Bogota Bowling Bucs took on the Harrison Blue Wave. Harrison would win the match 7-0.  Bogota’s Spencer Mazzella had match  high's with game with a 216 and series with a 586 for Bogota.  Maliha Hailder led the Blue Wave' with  highs in games with a 214, and series with a 502. Bogota’s record is now 4-8. They next bowl on Thursday-16 -January against Leonia. The first game is scheduled for 4:00p at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park.



   The Bogota Basketball Bucs would play those teams from  Emerson. 
   The Men's Basketball Bucs would travel to Emerson to play the Cavaliers.  Emerson would control much of the first half doubling up the score in the first 8 minutes 15-7. And repeated the process to take at 28-14 lead into half time. After the restart Bogota slowly start to climb back into the contest. By three-quater time the Bucs lowered the deficit to to five points, with the Cavaliers still in the lead 42-37.  In the final eight minutes Bogota would find the extra six points they needed to come awaya 54-53 road win. The Bucs record is now 8-2.  Taj Collins led Bogota scorers with 13 Points including 3 Three Point Baskets.  Thomas Gibbard
 had a game high 16 Points with 4 Three Point Baskets for Emerson. 
   Bogota will next play on Thursday-16 -January at Hawthorne Christian Academy.with the tip-off at 7:00p. 






  The Bogota Lady Bucs Basketball hosted the Lady Cavalier on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. Emerson would win the game by a score of  43-15. After a lopsided first half the Lady Bucs would huddle outside their locker room, without any Coaches, before the restart.  Maryann Gesmundo spoke to her team and asked them to start playing for themselves and the team as a whole. While the team scoring fell short, the Lady Bucs put in a stronger effort in ball movement and fighting for position. More loose balls were contest for both under the basket, and on the floor.  Seniah Burrell led Bogota in scoring with with 5 Points. This included 1 Three Point Basket. Maryann Gesmundo also had 1 Three point Basket for the Lady Bucs. Emerson's Victoria Elek had a game high with 14 Points. Bogota's record is now 1-8
  The Lady Bucs next play on Thursday-16 -January against Hawthorne Christian Academy. This will be played  on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym  with the tip off  scheduled for 4:00p
