Weekend Sports

  Results for Bogota Varsity Sports from the past weekend. The Bogota-Ridgefield Park Scarlet/Bucs  wrestling squad would compete in the Sam Cali Tournament at Fairleigh Dickinson in Madison, NJ. This took place on Friday and Saturday 3 & 4 -January. Andre Ruiz at 126 lbs would be the only Scarlet/Bucs wrestler to move beyond the quarterfinal  round. In the third place bout Andre Ruiz would defeat Thomas Okeefe from Middletown North, by a 6-0 decision .  They next compete on Wednesday-8-January-2020 aaginast Emerson.  This will take place in Speary Gym with the first bout is scheduled for 7:00p.

 On Saturday-4 -January the Bogota Lady Bucs basketball team would have there home opener for the 2020 Season.They would play the Leonia Lady Lions.Bogota would open the scoring with the first 4 points of the game. The Lady Bucs would lead after the first quarter 8-4.  In the next eight minutes Leonia used there speed to force turnovers and cause Bogotas to get into early foul trouble. The Lady Lions would out score Bogota by ten points in the quarter to take a 17-11 lead into halftime. Leonia would continue their control of the game and post 40-26 win.  Maryann Gesmundo would lead Bogota with 13 Points, includia game high 3 Three Point Baskets.  Leonia's  Janai Hawley would be high scorer with 15 points.  Kierstyn Klingner,Chantel Turbi and Emma Reilly would each have a single  Three point basket for the Lady Lions. Bogota's record is now 1-5, They next play on Monday-6-January-at Midland Park. The tip-off is scheduled for 4:00p.
