Grinch Breakfast

15-December-2025
On Saturday-13-December, the Go Bucs PTO hosted a Holiday breakfast in the High School Cafeteria. The menu featured Pancakes, or Waffles, Sausages, & Eggs with an assortment of pastries and drinks. There was a table set aside for the younger Students so they could colour a variety of holiday scenes.
The Grinch from the Dr. Suess story would walk around the room to greet the Students and the Parents. At times some of his Grrinchyness came out when he would try to hide treats for himself. Other times the Grinch who try to help colour, but it always seem to be with the green crayons. However, he would return the candy to get a smile from the victim. And allow the Students use all the colours available.
Also in attendance was Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede. She welcomed the Grinch and told him he should be on his best behavior while visiting the Borough. A few times she defended the Borough from his mischief. The Grinch then listened to the Mayor and would be on his best behavior from now on.
The Grinch went back to greeting everyone in attendance. He would allow some of the Students to chase him around the room. When caught the Grinch would fall down, and let the Students help him to stand, and start the chase again. He also took the time to pose for photos with some of the Families.
Proceeds from the morning will go to help fund PTO projects throughout the year. They were aided by the donation from Lidl grocery store to purchase the food for the breakfast.

Bogota Tree Lighting

14-December-2025

On Friday-5-December, the Borough of Bogota held their annual Christmas tree lighting in front of Borough Hall. A large crowd gathered to start the Holiday season in Bogota. There was a truck that sole hot chocolate and a stand that gave away cookies and candies. Beetch Barn Craft N ’Sip, had ribbons and pipe cleaners for anyone to make something of their own. Mrs. Claus walked around Borough Hall Park and handed out raffle tickets to the younger Students.
Music was provided by the Bogota High School Jazz Band. Students from Isabelle School of Dance, along with the Girl Scouts from Troop 98856 danced to Christmas music and other songs on the steps to Borough Hall. This kept everyone in attendance entertained while waiting for the arrival of a Special Guest.
Soon, horns sounded, and lights flashed which alerted everyone that something special was about to happen. Then the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department Engine Co. #1 and Hook and Ladder Co. #1. pulled up to Borough Hall. The Firefighters then assisted Santa Claus from the top of the Ladder Truck. He was greeted with cheers and claps of the children there to wish him a Merry Christmas. Santa walked through the crowd waving, shaking hands, and giving hugs to anyone who wanted one.
Once on the step, Santa took the time to personally talk with some more children before he and Mrs. Claus started the lighting countdown. When everyone finished counting down from ten, the pine tree was lit up for the Holiday Season. Santa and Mrs. Claus stayed a little longer to have their photos taken with anyone who wanted one.
