Bogota Board of Education

 On Tuesday-16-December, the Bogota Board of Education held their final meeting for the year of 2025.
 During his Superintendent reports Mr. Damian Kennedy first asked Student Representative Ms. Ximena Vargas to give her report. Ms. Vargas talked about the beginning of the 2025-26 varsity Sports season. She also said that a number of Seniors have received acceptance letters from Post Secondary institutions. With two Seniors signing Commitment letters.
 Then Superintendent Kennedy said that the High School Media Center is undergoing refurbishment. It has a schedule re-opening in April of 2026.
 Next Superintendent Kennedy asked Mr. Wilcox to present the Financial Audit for the past year. It was reported, for the second straight year, the District had no adverse findings. This included that the District is in sound financial conditions and has a strong maintenance reserve if needed.
 Then the Trustees voted on the Consent Agenda. All resolutions were passed by unanimous vote. Items of note were.
-to accept donations for the equipment to be used in the Career Technical Education Building.
-approved the use of district property for sport practices with facility fees
 The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-6-January 2026 at 7:00p. This will include the swearing-in for Ms. Idalia Alvarez, Ms. Trina Olivo and Ms. Ambreen Naeem who won the position of Trustees for the Board of Education in the 2025 General Election.
This will be held in the High School Cafeteria located on the second floor of 2 Henry Luthin Pl. and online.
