On Tuesday-16-December, the Bogota Seniors held their Christmas Party in the Senior Center. This featured a buffet luncheon with karaoke available. A number of attendees stepped forward to sing Holiday songs. The music also inspired others to dance to the rhythms being played. At times bubbles were included.
Also, before lunch was served attendees had the opportunity to receive a number of health screenings by medical professionals from Hackensack Merdian Health. Procedures included checking blood pressure, cholesterol, and other testing.
The music was provided by Mr. John Joseph " Mr. Double J".
Soon lunch was served with the food being provided by Mr. Phil Conte, Director of Recreation for the Borough of Bogota.
After lunch guest would be given a personalized gift bag to take home. When dessert was about to start it was announced that one Senior had a Birthday this day. Alba was asked to step forward and was serenaded by the attendees with the singing of Happy Birthday. Then pieces of the cake was served.
The last event of the afternoon was the selections of the winners in the Fair Share raffle. Each winner received small cash prizes. Then that person would then pick the next winning ticket
The Bogota Seniors Citizens Association is a community group for local resident to socialize and get information on events and other community activities. They meet every first and third Tuesday of the month in the Senior Center on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave.
