On Monday-1-June the E. Roy Bixby Elementary Schools in Bogota had a Grand Opening for their Week of the Arts of 2026.
The first assembly featured a welcoming video to the Student of what to expect for the rest of the week.
This was followed by a display of Chinese Acrobatics by Li Liu. Her performance included such acts as Spinning Plates, Diabolo Yoyos and Ribbon Twilling. During the assembly Li Liu asked for a few volunteers Students to join a part of the show. She showed one group how to spin plates. Then helped them pass a spinning plate to each other.

A second group of Students learned Ribbon Twilling, which created a wave of colour in front of their Classmates.
This year the week was filled with array of events that
celebrates the world of all styles of art that are available. There are many performances, workshops, and immersive
experiences to enjoy and learn from. Teachers and Students worked
together to lead a series of workshops, sharing their expertise and
igniting a spark of creativity in everyone who participated.
The week will end with the Fine Arts Dept. of Bogota High School performing for the Students.
