Arc Walk 2026

1-June-2026
On Sunday-31-May, the ARC of Bergen and Passaic Counties held their walk-a-thon in Olsen Park in Bogota NJ. The ARC's goal is to assist those suffering Mental or Physical handicaps, and their Families, to help maintain a positive quality of life.
To start the program Ms. Kathy Walsh welcome everyone in attendance, both walkers, and their supporters. Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede thanked the Arc for again coming to Bogota. Then Ms. Walsh welcomed New Jersey State Assemblywoman Shama Haider. Assemblywoman Haider talked about how the State of New Jersey supports these types of events to assist those with special needs.
Some of the groups attending in support of the ARC were the Masons from District 2, 3, & 4 of New Jersey who served food to the walkers. Games could be played on the lawn, with face painting and craft tables set-up including The Beetch Barn of Bogota to make spin art for those in attendance.
Before the walk started Mr. Matt Serednicky came up and once again sang the National Anthem. Then the walk began with Grand Marshal Mr. Christian Boslak cutting the ribbon to start the procession. Mr. Boslak led the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band by walking their two laps, around the park. This year the route was shorten due to improvements to Olsen Park. It started at the bandstand, crossed over the Environmental Walkway, past the 1st Lt William Ryan Memorial and around Lady Bucs Softball field. Then passed the Picnic Grove returning to the start line.
After the walkers finished their journey, they were treated to a Hot Dog lunch provided by the Masons, and music from Uphill Slide. It was a morning of music and games for the participants.
