Weekend Events

    Some event happening in and around Bogota for the weekend starting Thursday-14-May.


Thursday-14-May
Bogota

   - Bixby School will have their  first  String Concert on starting at 7:00p. This will be the premier  performance by a dedicated string band at Bixby. This will  take place  in the Gymnasium. Bixby School is located at the corner of Fisher & Maplewood Aves. Bogota, NJ.

Friday-15-May
Bogota
   Bixby School will hold its Spring clothing drive. This will start on Friday 15- May and will go to Monday 18- May. They will be accepting wearable &  usable used clothing. Along with shoes, which must be bagged separately, belts, handbags and other fashion accessories. Fabric household item, blankets, towels sheets etc. will also be accepted.  Stuffed animals, hard toys, and bike can also be donated. All items should be place on the blue tarp that will be located in front of Bixby School on the Fisher Ave. side at Chestnut St.  The donation to the school will be determined by the pound. Friday-15-May
Bogota
 - The Music Department of Bogota High School will present their Spring Concert. Curtain time will be  at 7:30p Tickets are priced at $5.00 and will be available at the door. This will feature both the Women's & Men's Choir as well as the La-De-Da's.  There will also be  performances by  the Concert Band and the Jazz band. This will take place in the High School Auditorium located at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ

Saturday-16-May
Bogota
  The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall Post #5561 will be hosting  a first benefit concert. This will be in observance of Armed Forces Day.  The evening will feature  performances by a number of  Band and other Musical Groups. Food and beverages will be available at members prices.  Doors open at 6:00p with the performances scheduled to start at 7:00p Tickets to this event will be $15 in advanced and $20 at the door. Process from this event will go to  help fund  the post #5561 VFW with their effort to give any Veteran who served their Country overseas to have a place to relax and be welcomed at. For more informations or to order tickets please call 201-343-9693. This will take place in the Main Hall located upstairs at 214 Leonia Ave. Bogota, NJ
  The Ralph Hall post also  serves the Community of Bogota with a space for local groups to have event and fundraisers at discounted rates.  The Ralph Hall post has recently gone through a number of improvement  and with those improvements  an increase in Public and Private events.  One benefit from the growth  of the Bogota Post. they have been able to open their chapter to other VFW post that have faced a decline in members, or loss of their own post building. The most recent VFW hall to close was post # 227 in Ridgefield Park, NJ. The chapter is still active, but the were force to sell their building. Post #5561 has open up the use of  their facility to their fellow Veterans from Ridgefield Park. 
   Another improvement has been the opening of the refurbishing of  Ralph Hall post canteen. It is now open seven days a week from 4:00p to 9:00p for members and their guest.  It has a cash bar, gaming room with pool table and poker table with a number of TV's to serve those that have served the County.

Sunday-17-May
Bogota
  The  Steen  6th grade class of 2015 will be hosting a  Car Wash on Sunday 17-May. This will be  held in Olsen Park starting at 10:00a and going until 3:00p. Cost will be $5.00 for cars and $7:00 for SUV, or Trucks. All process will go to the Steen 6th grade graduation fund.

Monday -18- May

    Read to Maggie the Beagle
Help your child foster their love of reading by letting them be Maggie's Reading Buddy. Come on down, pick out a book, and read to Maggie in the Children's Section. Mondays at 4:00PM

Monday 18- May
Bogota

       The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayors office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Lady Bucs Softball

-Thursday -14-May they host Park Ridge  with a 4:00p game. This will be played at the Lady Bucs Field in Olsen Park.
-Monday-18-May they will play their final Regular season home game against Teaneck. This will be their  Senior  game and start at 6:00p. This will be played at Lady Bucs Field in Olsen Park.

                                    





Bucs Baseball   

-Friday -15-May the will play against Park Ridge at the Fiegel Field Baseball Diamond. This is scheduled to have a first pitch at 4:00p
- Saturday-16-May they have an away game at Lincoln with a schedule start at 10:30a
