Monday -10 -Aug.

          The Bogota Public Library will host the next cartoonist workshop starting at 10:30a. This will be run by local Cartoonist  Patrick Teran to help young student learn about the art of making comic books.     The Bogota Public Library  will be hosting a Mighty Makers Studio event this will be Art Classes for anyone 16 years of age or older. This will start at 6:30p and go until 8:30p

       The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Bogota

  The Bogota Public Library is hosting a Summer Science series for Student in third grader or higher. The next session will be on Tuesday 11-Aug.  starting at 4:00p.  This weeks topic will be about Air, Forces, and Motion.  Advanced registration is required for each week, this is needed to determine the amount of materials needed for that week's session.  There will be a different topic for each session , the session will continue throughout the Summer.

  The Bogota Public library has extended it's Unplugged Family Game night to a weekly event that will take place every  Tuesday in July starting on 7-July. The games are scheduled to begin at 7:00p  These will be an evening to play board game with Family and Friends.

    The next in the Bogota Public Library's Smarty Pants lecture series will explore the information someone may need to know about going a a Cruising vacation. This is  schedule to start at 7:00p and be held in the second floor Senior Centre.  If you've never ventured on the high seas there are a few things you need to consider. A cruise vacation is a whole different experience if you're contemplating going for the first time. Join us in this informative session on the highs and lows of cruising from insider David Kriso.

Tuesday-11-Aug. & Wednesday-12-Aug,

    Uniforms for Steen and Bixby schools will be available to be fitted and purchase at each school on Tuesday 11- Aug for Steen, and Wednesday 12-August at Bixby . Times for both schools will be from 5:00p to 8:00p 







Tuesday-11-Aug.
Teaneck, NJ
     The Township of Teaneck will present a showing of the movie "Annie" in Votee Park. Showtime will be approximately  7:45p, based on when twilight occurs. It is advised anyone wishing to attend bring their own chair, or blanket. In cause of rain the showing be moved to Thursday 13- Aug. at the same location. This is a free event with popcorn available to the viewers. Votee Park located at 250 Colonial Ct. Teaneck, NJ

Tuesday-11-Aug.
Hackensack, NJ

     The City of Hackensack,  will be hosting the finally of its Summer Concert series. This will feature The Duprees as a make-up for their show from  14-July that was cancelled. Their concert  is scheduled to begin at 7:30p

Wednesday -11-Aug.
Bogota
    A new business  on W. Main St  will have its Grand Opening  starting at 12:00 noon. Mr. Freshcuts located at 78 W. Main St  Bogota, NJ  and will have a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Chris Keleman at 12:00 noon.  At 1:30p 25 free haircuts will be given away.  At 3:00p pizza and refreshments will be available, with DJ Joe Barrena providing music beginning at 4:00p. There will also be an  awarding of prizes from  The Mr. Freshcuts  photos contest on Instagram at 5:00p.     Read to Maggie the Beagle help your child foster their love of reading by letting them be Maggie's Reading Buddy. Come on down, pick out a book, and read to Maggie in the Children's Section. Wednesday-11-August 
Ridgefield Park, NJ


   The next of the McGowan Park Summer Concert Series features a performance by Julian and Dominique who will present a "Show of 1000 Voices" 
  The Concert is schedule to start at 7:00p, with a rain date of the following day at the same time. Admission is free of charge, but it is recommended to bring a lawn chair, or blanket.

Wednesday-12-Aug.
Hackensack, NJ

   The City of  Hackensack will present the next performance in its 2015 Shakespeare in the Park series.  This will be a production of Hamlet and will be held at the Atlantic St. Park Outdoor Theatre.  This is a free performance and is scheduled to begin at 7:30p. It is advised anyone wishing to attend bring their own chair, or blanket. In cause of rain, or  excessive  heat the performance will be moving to The Hackensack Performing Arts Centre at 102 State Street. For more information please call 201-820-3007

Thursday-12-Aug.

       The Bogota Public library will present the movie "Home" starting at 6:00p .This is a free event with snacks & water available for $1.00.  All proceeds will go to help fund future  Library programs.

Bogota

    The Bogota Public Library will have the first part of its Kids Explore Series starting at 10:30a to 12:30p  This is open to Students in Grades 3-6 to learn about new ideas. This week topic will be about China. This will allow Students to learn about the Chinese culture & language. There will be a chance to  hear ancient Chinese legends, write Chinese characters, and  learn basic Chinese phrases.
    This is a free event, however the Library ask anyone wishing to attend make a reservation.

Friday-14-Aug.
Hackensack, NJ

    The Teaneck New Theatre in cooperation with the Hackensack Cultural Arts Centre will present "Monty Python's Spamalot" . This  opened on Friday 7- August and  will continue   every Friday , Saturday & Sunday until  Sunday 23-August.  Curtain times for Friday and Saturday will be 8:00p. Sunday will be have matinee performance schedule to begin at 3:00p. Ticket prices at $18 for Adults and $15 for Students & Seniors. Performances will take place at the Hackensack Cultural Arts Centre  located at 39 Broadway Hackensack, NJ. Saturday-15- August 
Bogota

    The Steen PTO will doing a Summer clean-up of the school yard starting at 9:00a. They will freshening up the play area that were painted two years ago.  They are looking for volunteers to help with this project. They will also be adding new planting near the W. Main St. entrance.  Anyone  wishing to volunteer please contact Kristin Meberg at:  kmeberg311@gmail.com .

Saturday-15- August 
Bogota


    Bogota Beautiful is hosting Saturday morning Yoga classes. These will  continue through August. Classes will go from 9:00a to 10:00a  They will be held in Olsen Park in Bogota. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or  experience.  The classes will meet at the  Vic Scully field in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes  will determine where the classes will be held.  Everyone who wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn. This is free to the public, however it is asked to contact  Bogota Beautiful at there website: bogotabeautiful.com to make a resveration for as many dates as you wish.  
     Now available from Bogota Beautiful are workout mats. They are available in pink or blue and come with their own carrying sleeve, and straps to keep the mat rolled securely.  The has the Bogota Beautiful logo printed on one side of the carrying sleeve. Mats are priced at $25  they can be purchased at the yoga  class or by contacting  Bogota Beautiful at :

Saturday-15- August 
Bogota

    The Bogota Public library  will have their  fitness  club session starting at 10:30a to 11:30a. This will incorporate a number of different techniques  from the "Team Beachbody® Fit Clubs". This will be a free event to anyone 18 years or older. All fitness levels are welcomed. Anyone who attends must bring their own Yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. Comfortable exercise clothes are recommended.
