This Week Events

29-January-2017

  Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the week starting on Sunday-29-January.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.


Continuing 
 The Trinity Lutheran Church in Bogota is continuing its " Souper Bowl" Challenge. Now that the teams for Super Bowl LI have been set their is still time to pick a favorite.   By donating cans of soup and placing by your favorite team you will be assisting local Families in need. Their goal is to help support as many  local families in need as possible. This will run from now to Sunday 5-February 2017. Any items to be donated may be brought to Trinity Church before, or after Sunday Worship services.  Services are schedule to be held starting at 9:00a. Donation can also be dropped of at the church's office which is open Monday to Friday from 9:00a to 1;00p.
  Other food items will be accepted during this challenge, with the main focus being cans of soup to proved a simple, hot meal for Families in need.

    The Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders will take part in their second competition of the 2017 season.   Last week they were at the Jackson Liberty High School Cheer competition and won 1st place in the Co-Ed non-tumble division.  This week they will be at  Woodridge High School with the start time scheduled at 1:30p

     The Library will have it's  Night Traveler's Teen Club The Night Traveler's Teen Club is open to grades 6-12. Club members participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table.     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

  The St. Joseph's School  in Bogota will have their Open House for first time Students.

 The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular meeting, this is schedule to start at 7:30p. It will take place in the Council Chambers on the second floor at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.   This meeting is open to the public.

Friday-3-Feb.
Bogota 
    The Bogota Public Library will host a Mini-Makers lab for Students age 4-6. This will be held on the library first floor in the Teen quiet study area. Friday-3-Feb
Bogota
     The Bogota  Public Library is conducting a low impact version of their Fit Club. This will take place on Fridays in the second Floor Senior Centre.  It is being run by Library Director Radwa Ali who will lead the class in a series of movement exercises.  It  is scheduled to start at 4:00p , is a free event and open to anyone 18 years or older.  It is recommended anyone attending wear comfortable clothing which allows for easy movements.  Personal  water bottles  and a towel should also be brought.  There is no register required, however anyone attending will be asked to sign a waiver to participate. Bogota 
 The Bogota Public Library will host  a crafts for Seniors workshop Program is open to everyone ages 55 and up. Create your very own project to take home and showcase. Saturday-4-Feb.
Bogota 
  The Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting their second annual Zumba Dance to the Beat event.  It will be held at in the Bogota High School  Gymnasium with the doors opening at 6:00p Tickets are priced at $35.00 person. Price includes a T-shirt, Towel, Water Bottle and 10 complimentary Raffle tickets. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Heart Association in honour of Julio Alvarez. 
  This  is in support of  the American Heart Association To bring awareness and education of heart disease. There will include Zumba, Yoga, lessons and more information  to help our community learn about healthy heart, mind and lifestyle. This is another way the Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders strive to help different foundations and assist in the community.  This event is in honour  of Cheerleading Head Coach Gabrielle Carpenter's late Uncle Julio Alvarez who had been diagnosed and lost his battle to heart disease.
   They are also  currently looking for vendors  to attend and to sponsor this event. For more information about tickets or becoming a vendor please email them atbogotabucscheer@gmail.com

Saturday-4-Feb.
Bogota 
Trinity Lutheran Church is also hosting a Valentine Chocolate Dipping event. This will take place on Saturday 4-February from 6:00p to 8:00p  This a free event open to the public of all ages.  There will a change to cover snack items in chocolate , or to mold a piece of chocolate for yourself.
