Bogota Volleyball

  The #1 seeded Lady Bucs played the #9 seed Lady Cougars from Cresskill in the Quarterfinal round of the 2021 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group I, Section I playoff tournament. This was played at Speary Gym in Bogota. Cresskill served first and Bogota  scored the first two points of the match. Ashanna Caviness would open a seven point lead for Bogota with her service. The Lady Cougars' Jacklyn Dunay had three point service run to keep the score close. The Lady Bucs then had Helena Tobin serve for six straight points and give Bogota a 20-8 lead. The home team would win the first set by a score of 25-14.

  With Bogota serving first in the second set Gyanna Hernandez  spotted her team to a 3-0 advanage. The Lady Bucs defense would limit Cresskill scoring to just a single side for most of this set.  Bogota would open a double digit lead twice in the second set with Lady Cougars' Lacey Shin, and Amber D'Angelico have multiple scoring runs to slow Bogota scoring. The Lady Bucs' Helena Tobin would serve for the match with a four point run while making the final score 25-11 second set win. This gave Bogota a 2-0 Match victory. Bogota's record is now 23-2. The next play on Thursday-4 November in a Semi-final match against #4 seed Emerson. This will be play at Speary Gym, with the start time to be announced.

   Ashanna Caviness had 16 Kills for Bogota.  Carolina Villada record 3 Blocks,  Mia Pimentel 26 assists and had 2 Aces. Gyanna Hernandez also served for 2 Aces. Helena Tobin ended the match with 13-Digs and 12 Service Points.
