Remembering Our Fallen

    Tuesday-2-November was the final day Public viewing day of the "Remembering Our Fallen" Tribute Towers in Overpeck Park. 36 columns were set-up in front of the Amphitheatre of the Ridgefield Park section of Overpeck Park. This is a national wide traveling memorial to the members of the United States Armed Services  would have lost their lives in the conflicts involving  Iraq and Afghanistan since 11-September-2001.  "Remembering Our Fallen" was created by Patriotic Productions is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor our military service-members, past and present. They have created a traveling photo exhibits and holding events open to veterans, their families, and the public. The Overpeck event was sponsored by the Bergen County Division of Veteran Service.
Each of the 36 columns held 6 banners which showed a Name, City, Branch of Service, Rank, and Date of Death, along with photos of the Women, or Men, being remember. Service members included on these banners were those Killed in Action, Killed while on active duty on U.S. soil , or succumb to the effects of suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Many of those having PTSD would end their struggle by their own hand. Over 5,500 Service Personal can be looked at and remembered for their service to the United States. 48 individuals from New Jersey are represented on the towers. 10 of those are Bergen County Residents:

- SFC Orlando Diaz from Rochelle Park
- SGT Christopher Hrbek from Westwood
- SSGT Eric Christain from Ramsey
- SSGT Joseph D'Augustine from Waldwick
- SGT Eric Hernandez from Waldwick
- SSG Frank Carvill from Carlstadt
- LCPL Michael Schwarz from Carlstadt
-AW1 Joseph Pycior Jr from Carlstadt
