Festival of Wreaths

  On Monday-22-November the Ridgefield Park Public Library unveiled their 2021 Festival of Wreaths.  This is the 13th season of the Library's Holiday celebration.  This years festival is in tribute to former Library trustee Ms. Maureen Gibbs. As of Monday there were 27 creations on display, more will be added in the near future.  The collection will be available for viewing on the Library's first floor in the Main Reading room and the stacks section of the Library. 
   The majority of the creation are variation of a classic wreath.  Most of the wreaths are ring of pine boughs decorated with ribbons, berrys, flowers, and ornaments. A few wreaths were branches woven together in a circle with pine cones attached. These stayed a natural colour, or painted in white. Other wreaths incorporated other celebrations. Highlighted by a Thanksgiving Wreath with autumn leaves and scarecrows, and a Birthday Wreath with party favors and topped with a Birthday cap. 
  Other decoration moved away from the wreath shape. This included candle holders with ornaments, of springs of pine. A couples of hanging globes to appear as Mistletoe in the entrance arch in to the reading room.  A couple wooden discs with Holiday messages written on them with grenney attached. There is also one toy Pick-up Truck painted in red and white with a small wreath on the front. In the truck bed are two pine trees on their way to decorated for the Holidays.
   The 2021 Festival of Wreaths will continue until Monday-6-December. Wreaths will be on display during regular Library business hours. Everyone making a donation to the Library at this time will be entered into raffle to win a wreath . The drawing will be held on Monday-6-December ands will be broadcasted live on line.
