On Saturday-4-December the Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 hosted the local session of the national Free Throw Contest. This was held on the Dr. Richardson Court in Bell Gym at Ridgefield Park High School. The competition was separated into six groups. Three from Girls ages: 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. The three Boys were for ages 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. Players were given some warm-up shots, then the competed started. Each player would take 10 shots in the first round. The players with the high score would advance to the next round. The final round would consist of 15 total shots. If the score was still even, then there would be a tie-breaker round. After all the players completed their attempts the scores would be totaled up and the winner, and runner-up from each group was announce. The winner of the Girls aged 10-11 was Malia Paul. For Girls aged 12-13 was KayLeigh Brown. For the Boys aged 8-9 was Joey Hernandez and aged 10-11 was JD Fucci.

The winners of each group will then move on the District Regional finals on Saturday-15-January-2022. These will be again held on the Dr. Richardson Court in Bell Gym at Ridgefield Park High School. This is scheduled to start at 2:30p. Student may come early to warm up.
