On Friday 7-June-2024, the Borough of Bogota held their annual Bogota Day. This took place in
in Olsen Park. On W. Main St., Emergency Services and Borough vehicles lined the street so the public could get a closer look. Personnel were on hand to talk with the residents and answer questions they might have.
Another section had food stands set up to serve meals and other refreshments. Nearby, the Bogota Police Department set up a dunk tank. Including the Bogota Police FOB Lodge #161. They were accepting donations to support the 2025 Bogota Junior Police Academy
On Lady Buc field, a number of inflatable slides and playgrounds were provided by Bounce House Mania. Along the outfield fence, many local organizations had displays to hand out information. They were the Bogota Preschool, the Bogota Go Bucs PTO, the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Bogota Public Library, the Bogota Advisory Committee on Substance Abuse and a representative from Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s office.
This year, a show wagon from Bergen County was provided for entertainment. The first was the Bogota High School’s Jazz Band, directed by Mr. David Abraham, playing a variety of songs, including returning songs from previous Weeks of the Arts. When they were finished, a DJ on the other side of the parking lot’s street played some music of his own to keep the public entertain.
After 6:00pm, the Adult part of the evening started. Bogota Mayor Ms. Daniele Fede spoke to the gathering audience. She welcomed everyone to Olsen Park for the celebration. She thanked all the municipal department, along with the local organization and business participating in the event.
Then the band “Steppin’ Out” took to the stage. They ended the evening playing covers of famous songs, with some dancing and others relaxing on a Summers evening.
