 At the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday-20-May Superintendent Mr.  Damian Kennedy announced that the Grand Opening of the Bogota Athletic Complex is scheduled for Friday -6-June stating at 6:00p. It will take place at 198 W. Park Pl. 
Work over the weekend has been the laying of the rubberized surface on the track.  The base colour of the track is a Charcoal Grey.  The lens at all four corners of the oval will be coloured Bogota Purple and be staggered reflexing the staggered start of track and field competitions ensure that each athlete experiences an equal distance and comparable conditions, regardless of their assigned lane. Also, the centre lane of the runway for the Long and Triple jumps is also a Charcoal Grey border by Bogota Purple stripes. 
  The Southern part of the welcome plaza has been paved with the landscaping of plants and trees added, along with light poles installed. Major work is still being done on the Main Plaza entrance. This features a new refreshment stand this will feature an elevated walkway even with the front aisle of the grandstands. The refreshment stand will have an opened cover seating area in the front.
 A separate section that will be used for equipment storage. This has allowed the Board of Education to donate a number of the old storage sheds to the Bogota Swim Club.
  Groundwork on the welcome plaza from Feller Pl. to the football field is still underway before final paving and landscaping can be finished. 
 The Softball and Baseball field grass has grown in enough to have a first mowing which show off the stripes in the turf. 
  Top layers of the walking path has been completed including the curb cut at the crosswalk across W. Main St. 
 A number of Dry well have also been added to various locations around the grounds to aid in water drainage.
