Signing Ceremony

 5-June-2025

On Thursday-5-June, the Bogota High School held a commitment signing ceremony for two Senior Athletes so they can attend College starting in the fall of 2025. They were Lady Bucs Volleyball player Ms. Isabela Cruz and Bogota Football Bucs player Mr. Francis Vargas. Mr. Vargas signed with William Paterson University to play football. Ms. Cruz has committed to play Volleyball at the State University of New York at Canton.
To open the event, Football Head Coach Mr. Brian Appleton said:
Bogota High School proudly celebrated Signing Day as two standout student athletes committed to continuing their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. Francis Vargas signed to play football at William Paterson University, while Isabella Cruz committed to SUNY Canton for volleyball. Their dedication and hard work have brought pride to the school and inspiration to their peers. And Congratulations to both athletes on this exciting new chapter.
The two Athletes sat in front of the Bogota Buccaneer banner between Coach Appleton and Volleyball Head Coach Mr. Brad DiRupo.
Both Coaches praised the Students for their work effort while at the High School in commitment of becoming a better athlete for their team and teammates. Along with the dedication to having academic success, and the level of maturity they displayed while becoming Adults.
First, Parents of each of the athletes told their child of how proud they are of them and are excited to see them continue to grow. This was followed by both coaches talking about how each player showed the extra effort to help them, and their teammates become better.
Coach Appleton said that Mr. Vargas asked his family if he could stay in Bogota over the Summers to improve his skills. While Coach DiRupo mentioned that Ms. Cruz would take the time to guide her teammates if they needed some extra help.
Then Mr. Francis Vargas donned a William Paterson cap to sign his commitment letter. Then Ms. Isabela Cruz added her name on the letter from SUNY Canton.
This was followed by photos of the Players with their Coaches, Families, Teammates, and Miss Monica as a way to thank them for all their support over their High School Careers.
