The Bogota Soccer Bucs continue their preseason training in Feigel Field. This day focused on passing and shooting. The first drill was to work on the 1-2 attacks. This had one player pass the ball to their teammate. The receiving player needed to quickly pass back the ball for the first player to take a one time shot on target. The Offensive players were placed into three groups. One group started in the Centre of the field. The other groups began on the Right or Left wings respectfully. After the attempt was made those players moved to a different group.
The next drill was to work on 3 vs 2. Three Offensive players needed to outmaneuver the Defense in order to get a shot on goal. With the defense trying to force a turnover. Durning this part of the work out Coaches Mr. Terrance Savill played with the offensive side. With Mr. Allan Marquez working with the Defense. With a few times the Coaches would compete against each other.
The next part was the team being assigned to smaller squads. They would compete against each other for the rest of the practice.
This will be the second year for Coach Savill being at the helm, assisted by Coach Marquez. The Soccer Bucs currently have 20 players on the roster, four of which are Seniors. Coach Savill’s goals for the upcoming season is to qualify for the Bergen County Tournament, as well as the State Playoffs.
The Bogota Soccer Bucs open the 2025 season on Wednesday-3-September when they travel to Paterson Charter School. This will have a 4:00p Kick-off.
The Bucs Home opener will be on Friday-4-September when they host New Milford at 4:00p. This will be the first Varsity Soccer game in Feigel Field in the Bogota Sports Complex.
