Beetch Barn owner Ms. Robin Aldridge showed a sample of a way the hanger could look like when finished. The overall design was a wooden field curved at the top. A ledge at the bottom to hold a classical pick-up truck, which is changeable. The words “Home Sweet Home” along the top. The bed of the truck also had a space to add different items to reflect the season.
Ms. Aldridge distributed raw-wood kits to everyone in attendance. The kits included pre-cut pieces of the design. It was suggested all the pieces be fully painted before assembly, and the main field should be painted first. After that each creator could colour the objects how they seemed fit.
In the front of the room a large variety of coloured paints and markers were laid-out for everyone to use. Those who signed up brought their own beverages and snacks to have as the evening moved on. Ms. Aldridge gave a short description of what steps to take and how and where to glue some of the items. She walked around the tables to answer questions and to give advice if needed. Ms. Aldridge was assisted by Ms. Maddie Gambo, and Mr. Jon Aldridge to offer help, or to just bring more paint, and other supplies.
The field were mainly stained or painted. When time came to work on the truck, it was painted with colours ranging from a simple red, blue, green, yellow, or orange, with some versions having multi-coloured trim. The lettering also had a wide variety of colours that was shown off by the crafters.
At the end of the evening everyone took the time to look at all the hangers that were made.
The next crafting event will be on Thursday-13-November at 7:00p. This will let participants create their own Faux Stain Glass ornaments. The Beetch Barn located on 38 W. Ft. Lee Rd. Bogota, NJ.
