The Borough has started a Hometown Heroes Banner program. This will allow residents of Bogota to honor a family member who serviced in the Armed Servies. The cost of a banners will be $150.00 payable to the Borough of Bogota. Bogota  
 Leaf season is from Monday-13-October until Monday-22-December. Homeowners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street, along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is asked that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding, or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday-23-December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

  General Elections for 2025 in the State of New Jersey will take place on Tuesday-10-June. The polls will be opening at 6:00a. and will remain open until 8:00p.

  Notes for the 2025 New Jersey General Election:
-In Bogota: Due to the construction of a new Community Center. Districts 1 & 6 will use the polls in the Gym of Bogota High School at 2 Henry Luthin Pl.  please use the door towards the back of the building on the North side of the building. 
 -Bergen County will use a "Block Voting" style ballot. Candidates will be listed by Elected Office they are running for. The top of the block will list the office and the maximum number of candidates that can be voted for.  Spaces for write-in candidates are available.   

  Voting for the 2025 New Jersey General Elections.
- At the local polling station. (for locations see below)
-Early voting from Saturday-25 -October to Sunday-2-November. Monday through Saturday the hours are 10:00a to 8:00p, Sundays, the hours are 10:00a to 6:00p nears to Bogota is at
 1 Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack.  and 250 Colonial Court in Teaneck.
-By Mail Ballots. Ballots must be postmarked on or before Tuesday-4 November 2025. Or placed in a secure Ballot Box no later than 8:00p on Tuesday-4 November-2025. Secure drop boxes will be set-up in 32 Bergen County Communities. The closest to Bogota are in Hackensack, NJ at One Bergen County Plaza, this is the main county Administration Building. Another is in Teaneck, NJ at 818 Teaneck Rd, this will be located at the North entrance of the Township Municipal Building. Ballot Drop Boxes are available 24-hours. Ballots must be in the Drop Box by 8:00p on election night. Ballots left after 8:00p on election night will be considered late and not counted. Drop boxes will be under 24-hour security and surveillance. Representatives from both major parties will oversee the collecting, and delivery of ballots from Drop Boxes.

  The Bergen County Board of Elections is in need for Poll Workers for the 2025 Elections. Information on becoming a poll worker can be found at: https://nj.gov/state/elections/pollworker.shtml

The Primary Election will be on Tuesday-4-Nov-2025 with the polls opening at 6:00a and remaining open until 8:00p.
The Public schools of the Bogota Board of Education will be Closed to allow for voting.

-- For Districts 1& 6 it is the Gym of Bogota High School at 2 Henry Luthin Pl.  please use the door towards the back of the building on the North side of the building. Due to the construction of a new Community Center.

The Bogota Public Library will have a Crochet Workshop at 6:00p. It will be held in the second floor Seniors Centre.  Students from age 12-18 are invited to join and learn the basics of crochet. Projects can include stuffed animals, clothes, and other geeky goodies. Registration required.  The Schools of the Bogota Public School System are closed for the NJEAA teachers Conference. Classes will resume on the regular schedule on Monday-10-November.

Friends of the Bogota Library and Beetch Barn Craft N'Sip will hold a Craft Night Fundraiser. Tickets are $45 each and include water, coffee, tea, and desserts. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages, both alcoholic and non. Each attendee will go home with a custom door hanging. This event is for adults 21 and over only.
