Road Work

  18-November-2025

During the week ending on Friday-14-November, Hill St. had its new asphalt pavement finished. There was also new curbs, and sidewalks installed. The repaving was made possible by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).
This was the latest street project done in Bogota over the past two years. Starting in April of 2024 James St. was worked on with a Community Development Block Grant. Also, in April Main St from the Teaneck Border to the Lt. William Ryan Bridge was repaved. This was financed by Bergen County. In the Spring of 2026, after road work for the new Community Center is completed, the Borough will repave the section of W. Main St. from River Rd. to the Lt. Ryan Bridge. This is due to the upgrading of the infrastructure for the new Fire Hydrants and added capacity for the new building and fields.
In June Larch Ave. was repaved from W. Ft. Lee Rd to just north of Homestead Pl. Then in August of 2025 the part of Larch Ave moving south from W. Ft Lee to Munn Ave. was also repaved. Both sections used NJDOT funding.
Work on Fairview Ave was done with NJDOT special grant funding
Bergen County re-paved Ft. Lee Rd. from Teaneck to River Rd. In 2025 W. Ft. Lee Rd. needed to go through utility work. When the work was complete the utility company repaved the street at their expense. Other utility work was done on Elm Ave connecting with the W. Ft. Lee Rd. work. Eventually, Elm Ave. from W. Ft. Lee Rd to Munn Ave was milled and repaved. At the end of the Summer in 2025 the parts of Elm, not paved by the utility, was refurbished after the Bogota Council passed a Multi-use Bond Ordinance.
The paving for the entire Bogota section of River Rd. was also re-paved with grants from Bergen County. This was delayed due to emergency sewer work after the collapse of the old piping.
Another project was to replace the sidewalks around Bixby School on Palisade, Chestnut, Fischer, and Maplewood Aves. from Palisade Ave. This was a safe schools project from NJDOT.
Along with the paving on Palisade Ave. and Queen Anne Rd. drivers will when Bogota begins, where the rough roads end.
