Weekend Events

Reminder:

  Bogota Blog NJ along with Bogota Beautiful is starting a drive to collect gift cards in order to help the Citizens of Edgewater, NJ. With the assistance of Bogota Mayor Chris Keleman there will be a collection box located in Borough Hall in the secretary's office.  The secretary's office will be open during normal business hours which  are from Monday to Thursday from 8:00a to 5:00p. Bogota Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ

The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p in Council Chambers.  The Bogota Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave, Bogota , NJ. This meeting is open to the public.

    The Bogota Public Library will host it's Dr. Who Club meeting. This is open to anyone who is a follower of the BBC series or who would like to learn about it. It will be held in on the second floor of the Library starting at 7:30p. There is a second meeting schedule for Thursday 15- Jan. at the same time.   The Miss Bogota 2015 Pageant will host  a Fundraiser Bowling night at Bowler City in Hackensack. This will take place on Saturday 7- February from 3:00p-5:00p. Cost will be $12.00 for bowling along with shoe rentals. It is encourage to purchase tickets from a favorite Candidate.  Bowler City is located at 85 Midtown Bridge St. Hackensack, NJ.

The Puffin Cultural Forum will present Jazz pianist Alex Collins  as he returns to the Puffin with a program featuring all original compositions. Alex grew up in Teaneck and has gone on to perform at the Plaza Hotel, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Kitano Hotel, Cleopatra’s Needle, Cachaca, and the Fat Cat Jazz Club. Joining Alex on stage are Calvin Jones (bass) and Jaimeo Brown (drums). The performance is scheduled to start at 8:00p.

       The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman from 5:00p to 7:00p in Borough Hall.  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis.

New Events

  On Wednesday 11-Feb  the Bogota High School Creative Writing Class will hold it's first Poetry Slam event. This will take place in the Bogota High School Library starting at 7:00p. Tickets will be $2.00 in advance  and $3.00 at the door.  Proceeds from this event will go to the provide clean & safe water in developing countries. This will be an Open Mic event in order to allow students from the entire High School to recite their original works.   On Wednesday 11- Feb. The Steen Hawk Band will present its Winter Concert starting at 7:00p. This will take place in the School Gymnasium. Admittance will be from the Orchard Terrace entrance. 

   
   The Kohles Corporation is holding a program to award  is a scholarship for students who are between the ages of 6 and 18 years old that have spent hours throughout this year volunteering their time in the community.  Students must be nominated by one or multiple people so long as they are 21 years old.  Please learn more about this opportunity by visiting:http://www.kohlscorporation.com/CommunityRelations/scholarship/
