  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
  To assist contestants with their project Bogota Beautiful has arranged with  Fresh & Fancy Farms of New Milford, NJ to offer a 15% discount on flowers, planter, shrubs, and trees. This offer is only valid  until Tuesday 31- May.   Fresh & Fancy Farms is located at 575 River Rd New Milford, NJ
  Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August.     The ARC of Bergen, & Passaic Counties will hold their 19th annual walk for Children and Adults with intellectual and development disabilities in Olsen Park. This year the event will take place on Sunday -5-June.Registration will begin at 9:30a, with the walk it's self starting at 10:30a . Located at 162 W.  Main St. in Bogota , NJ
 The ARC  is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide and maintain a full,& independent life style within their own communities. ARC provides advocacy, community education, direct services, and customized support for those people, and their families, who have an intellectual and other disabilities.  There will be live music, games, face painting, and  other actives, before , during ,and after the walk.
 There are a number of way citizens can contribute to The ARC. One is to be an event sponsor. Another is to raise money from pledges for how many miles are walked.    The Bogota High School Athletic Dept. will be hosting it's annual Michael B Granquist Memorial  Sports Awards dinner This will be held in the High School Gymnasium  starting at 6:00p. All Student Athletes will be admitted free of charge.     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

 The Bogota Library will have its next Smarty Pants Authors  Lecture.  The Fine Arts Dept will hold their Awards Dinner on Wednesday 8-June. This will be held in the High School Gymnasium and start at 6:30p.  Admission is a Potluck dinner item to be served.

The Bogota High School  held their Academic Awards night.  This event was to honour the Students of Bogota High School for the school year of 2015-16. Also during this evening a number of scholarships will be awarded to a members of Graduating Seniors from the Class of 2016.

  St. Joseph's will hold their graduation ceremony for the 8th grade class of 2016. This will begin at 6:00p and be held in St. Joseph's Church.



Saturday-11-June
Bogota 
Bogota Beautiful will continue their  Saturday  "Yoga in the Park" for May and June.  These will take place each Saturday in May and June and will be held in Olsen Park.  The class will run from 9:00a to 10:00a and be led by a Yoga instructor. They will be held in Olsen Park in Bogota. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or  experience.  The classes will meet at the Bandshell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the bandshell or on the lawn in front of the bandshell. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn. This is free to the public, however it is asked to contact  Bogota Beautiful at there website: bogotabeautiful.com to make a resveration for as many dates as you wish.  Bogota Beautiful will also have yoga mats availble for purchase if needed  Please also visit the same website for more information or to donate to: bogotabeautiful.com

 Bogota Beautiful will host its 1st Bogota Walk with the Mayor. This is a two mile walk around the Western part of Bogota lead by Mayor Chris Kelemen. The goal is to promote wellness with the exercise of walking, along with community awareness by taking the time to enjoy the surrounding of Bogota. The walk will begin at the Olsen Park Picnic pavilion scheduled to start at 10:00a. It will then proceed to River Rd and turn North until turning onto Homestead Pl. From Homestead Pl the walk will turn South onto Larch Ave moving past the Library and Borough Hall. The the walk will head West onto W. Ft. Lee Rd by Bogart Church and continue to River Rd, and finish at the Community Garden. At the end of the walk there will be the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Bogota Community Garden. Registration is now open, and any one signing up before Wednesday 1-June will be able to receive  a backpack and reflectors which can be worn while walking or biking in low light. All walkers will be given a Bogota Beautiful  wristband.     The  Bogota Community Garden Commission is scheduled to have a ribbon cutting event on Saturday 11- June ribbon cutting event. This will take place after the Walk with the Mayor and be held at the Community garden located at the corner of River Rd. and W. Ft.     On Saturday 11-June The Ralph Hall Post #5562 will host a benefit concert to assist  New Milford Police Detective Brian Long with his treatment for cancer.   This  is the Bogota VFW post working with the Bergenfield VFW post # 6467.  Doors will open at 6:30p  with tickets priced at $20 in advanced and $ 30 at the door. Some of the groups scheduled to perform are “London Calling” playing songs from the Beatles and “That 60’s Band” playing music from the 1960’s & 70’s.  Process' from this event will go to assist Officer Long with his treatments.  The Bogota Post #5561 has announced the availability of  a Sponsorship program for this event. There are for level of Sponsorship for any business, group, or individual to take advantage of. 
-The first is the Gold level if available for $500 which will include 8 tickets, or full table to the concert.  A 24 x 36 inch poster for your group, or business,  visual ad displayed , framed certificate of Appreciation, and a decoration of the tax deductions.
-The Silver level for $250 will include 4 tickets an 11 x 17  inch poster, and visual ad displayed , framed certificate of Appreciation, and a decoration of the tax deductions.
-Bronze level for $150 will include 2 tickets, ands letter size ad on the bar and framed certificate of Appreciation, and a decoration of the tax deductions.
- The Booster level for $50 is for individual only which will include one ticket and a letter size message displayed at the bar.
