The Bogota Junior Football Bucs, and the Junior Cheerleaders have been preparing for the 2018 season for the last several weeks. Bogota is a member of the Bi-County Junior Scholastic Football League (BCJSFL) which consist eight other teams located from Englewood in the North to Secaucus & Weehawken to the South. The teams will play an a regulation size football field, with all home game will be played at Feigel Field in Bogota.
- The Pee-Wee is for the youngest players which is for student from 2nd to 4th grade, and are under 11 years of age.
- The Junior division is for those players who are in 5th & 6st grade and are under the age of 13.
- The Senior division are those players who will be in 7th & 8th grade and are younger the 15 years of age.
Last season the Junior team won their division Championship. Many of those players have moved up to the Senior division for the 2018 season. Program Director Michael Olivo said the the Senior and Pee-Wee teams are also full, with the Junior squad still having some opening available. Mr Olivo added that a large number of Parents have volunteer to coach all the teams, which will allow the players to recieve more individual instruction and training. The Junior Cheerleader worked out in the Bogtoa Recreation Center learning formation and the cheers. They also worked on how to project their voices so that they can be heard in the stands. The Cheerleaders are placed in the same grouping as the football players and will attend all the games both home and away. Registration to join the Cheerleaders will continue until Friday-31-August. The Junior Bucs will open their season on Saturday-15 September against Englewood. This will take place at Fiegel Field and start with the Pee-Wee teams. Their kick-off is scheduled for 11:00a with the other division to follow.
