St. Joseph's Church

  On Friday-26- April the Archdiocese of Newark issued a statement to announced that  Reverend John J. Galeano had voluntarily agreed to relinquish his pastoral and administrative duties at St. Joseph Church in Bogota, NJ. The Archdiocese reviewed administrative and financial procedures and reports, as well as allegations of inappropriate conduct. No report of any incident involving an allegation of abuse of a minor. Father Galeano will not perform any priestly, administrative or sacramental duties and will not live at the parish during the review process. Please know that this decision was made after much careful consideration.  The statement continued by asking. "If anyone has information of any impropriety, you are encouraged to report it to the Archdiocese." 
It was also announced that former Pastor at St. Joseph's, Reverend Timothy Graff,  will serve as temporary administrator. Masses and other services at the church will continue as planned and according to the regular parish schedule. 
No other information is available at this time.
