Wine and Food Tasting

   On Saturday-4-May the Friends of the Food Pantry of Ridgefield Park held a Wine and Food tasting. This was held at the Hook & Ladder Company #2 located on Hazelton St. in the Village.  Hosted by Leslie and Mark Olson they select six wines from Europe and the United States to be tasted.  Each wine was paired with a food item starting with  hors d’oeuvres and cheeses. Then they moved on to main courses and finishing with desserts. 

   At the end of the evening two of each vintage of wine was auction off to the guest. Each bottle was sold for at least $50.00 to $60.00 with the top price being sold for $125.00. All processes from the dinner and the auction will go to aid the St. Francis of Assisi Church’s  Food Pantry of Ridgefield Park. 

   The wines themselves were provided by Veritas Studio Wine of New York. Local restaurants, and business’  donated the food served. These included  Sparta Taverna, MK Valencia, Gina the Baker,  Chocolates with Love, & Baked Meringue. Also Art  Mora and the Village IGA all of Ridgefield Park , NJ

   The Ridgefield Park Volunteer  Fire Dept.  Hook & Ladder Company #2 provided   the logistics for the evening.
