Academic Awards 2019

  On Thursday-13-June Bogota High School hosted their Academic Awards for the school year 2018-19. Members of the Bogota Senior of the Class of 2019 were awarded Scholarship to be used to continue their Education. Most were Scholarships will be used at University  and Colleges.  The attendees were welcomed by High School Principal  Ms. Kelly Foley DeCongelio. To start the ceremony Principal DeCongelio honoured one parent for her work and assistants for the pass six years. Marlene Jaipersaud.  The Scholarships to be rewarded   to Students who will enter a next level of studies for their chosen Trade or Field of Interest.  Different scholarships were awarded based on several criteria. Some scholarships were  given to recognizing those Students achievements  based on academic performance. Others were for those Different scholarships were also awarded to honour the Students who used their time and effort to work as volunteers for the Community, and service to others. Some of the Major  Scholarships awarded were the The Michael Lukacs  Scholarships was awarded to Ashley Gomez, Angelie Jaipersaud, Ali Salam, Syed Hamza Hussaini and Andrew MillerThe Henry Luthin Scholarships went to Angelie Jaipersaud.
  The next category was the Athletic Awards. These were based on those Seniors who achieved high standards in both Academic and Athletic performance.  This included the Presidential Education program give to 10 Students .The third part of the ceremony honoured Students in all grades from Seventh to Twelfth who performed at the highest standard in each of the Educational Departments. Those include Physical Education, Science, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Business, and the Fine Arts.
  The final award was the Principal Award for Service. Each year on Senior member of the graduation class is  recognized for their outstanding service to the Community and School. This year's winner was 
Angelie Jaipersaud. In Principal's  DeCongelio  presentation she told how Ms. Jaipersaud work as Student/ Athlete was balanced with her volunteer activities in the community.
