On Tuesday-10-October the Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the Lady Owls from Park Ridge. The Lady Owls would score the first two points of the set. Bogota would pull event at 2-2, and then again at 3-3. At this point Bogota Coach Brad DiRupo would call a rare time out. Normally coaches call time after losing a point, but this was used after Bogota tied the game. This even came to as a surprize to their opponent's. Coach DiRupo question his team willingness to want to even play this match much less win it. With this wake call Nylene Mateo gave the first answer by scoring number of service points to give Bogota a lead they would not give up. Once the Lady Bucs took control this season's "Kills by Committee" made sure Park Ridge would not be able to gain any advantage. Five of the Lady Bucs would register scoring plays. Briana Lozano, and Nylene Mateo would led the team with 8 Kills each. Jaelyn Grullon and Leila Ksiyer would record 6 Kills each and Julianne Corniel would have 2. Bogota would finish with a 2-0-(25-13: 25-9) win. Nylene Mateo would also lead the team with 12 Service Points including 4 Aces, Alyssa Vazquez would have 22 Assists and Lisbeth Suarez would have 12 Digs. Jaelyn Grullon and Leila Ksiyer would also record 2 Blocks apiece. Bogota's record is now 12-1 They next play at Secaucus on Wednesday -11-October, the first serve is scheduled for 4:30p.
Bogota will enter the Bergen County Volleyball Tournament as number 8 seed. They will play #25 Ft. Lee in their first round at Home in Speary Gym on Saturday -14-October with the first serve scheduled for 11:00a
