Weekend Events

Thursday-19-October
   Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the Weekend  starting on Thursday-19-October.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing
 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete. 


                                                                       



October

  The Bogota library will once again be holding it's food for fines month in October.  This will allow anyone with over due books, or other items  to donated a food item instead of paying for the fine. Each item donated will be equal to $1.00 worth of fines.  Items must to
non-perishable, and in a non-glass container.  All food item will be donated to the St. Joseph's food bank.

October to December

    Sunday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p.  It will take place Council Chambers on the second floor of the Bogota Borough Hall. This is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

  The Teaneck Farmers Market will be open from now until Thursday 26-October from 12:00n to 5:00p It is located in the  Beverly Rd parking lot at Garrison Ave  Teaneck, NJ

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. Sunday-22 -October
Bogota
  The Bogota Marching Buccaneer Band will participate in the  71th North Jersey Band Festival at Montclair State University.  The events starts at 4:00p with Bogota scheduled to be the fourth band to perform. ( Rain date will be Sunday -29-October also at 4:00p). Bogota has been the only High School band to attend all 71 festivals. Tickets are $10.00 in advance, and $15.00 at the gate. parking cost $6.00 . Tickets may be purchased from any band member.  For more information please contact Band Director Barry McCann.  The Bogota Public Library will present the latest meeting of  Coffee, Cookies, and Colouring. This is designed to have a moment of relaxation by joining other for some cookies & coffee while passing the time to do some colouring. This is open to anyone 16 years of age or over. The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Volleyball-                vs  Cresskill  7:00p at Speary Gym. JV match will proceeds at 5:30p
Soccer-                        at Cresskill 4:00p 
MS Soccer-               at Secaucus 4:00p 
Junior Football      at   Palisades Park Pee-Wee kickoff at 6:00p the other divisions to follow.

Saturday-21-Oct
Cross Country-         County Group Championship Darlington Park
Football-                      vs Wallington  at Fiegel Field.  kickoff at 1:00p 
Volleyball-                 #8 Bogota will next play #9 Ridgewood in the second round of the Bergen County Volleyball Tournament. This will take place at Northern Valley Old Tappan. First serve is scheduled for 3:30p and be held in the South Gym.
