Weekend Events

Sunday-1-October
   Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the Month  starting on Sunday-1-October.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete. 


                                                                       

Charity 
Bayada Health Care, which has offices in Hackensack and other North Jersey locations, is working with the American Red Cross has set-up a donation page to assist those in need from the recent hurricane affecting the Gulf Coast.    The Mayor and  Borough Council of Bogota has started a food drive to aid the victims of Hurricane that has affected the Island of Puerto Rico. They will be collecting dry, or canned food products. They will also be collecting household, and emergency supplies. They asked that no clothing items be donated at this time. Along with the food items including bottled water. Other items of need are First-aid kits, Flashlight and all size batteries. Items for newborns, and toddlers such as baby food & formula, diapers,  and wipes. Personal hygiene item included mosquito repellant, toothbrushes and paste,  deodorant, soap, and shampoos. 
   Shipping of these supplies will be assisted by the Office of the Governor of New York State, so there is no need for financial assistance. The greater need is for hard supplies to aid those affected by the hurricane and it's aftermath.  
   They maybe dropped off at the Bogota Police Dept. Headquarters from now until Friday-6-October. For more information please call the numbers on the attached flyer.

  The Bogota library will once again be holding it's food for fines month in October.  This will allow anyone with over due books, or other items  to donated a food item instead of paying for the fine. Each item donated will be equal to $1.00 worth of fines.  Items must to
non-perishable, and in a non-glass container.  All food item will be donated to the St. Joseph's food bank.

   The Bogota Public Library will be having another Open Mic Night This is open to anyone who wishes show off their talent to others. Performances musical, singing and instrumental,  Poetry, or short story telling. It is asked to please refrain from doing stand-up comedy.  This is open to anyone, regardless of age,and are welcome to sign up.  The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p.  It will take place Council Chambers on the second floor of the Bogota Borough Hall. This is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

Teaneck, NJ

The Teaneck Farmers Market will be open from now until Thursday 26-October from 12:00n to 5:00p. There will be a special activity presented by the  Glen Pointe Fitness, and knife sharpening by Neil  Sharpening Service. This is scheduled to start at 2:30p.   The Teaneck Farmers Market is located in the  Beverly Rd parking lot at Garrison Ave  Teaneck, NJ.

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area.    The Bogota Public Library will host an opening reception of its latest gallery show. This will display works by survivors of domestic violence and is made possible by the Centre for Hope and Safety

   The Bogota Girl Scouts will be holding a recruitment event at the Bogota  Public Library. This will start at 11:00a and run until 1:00p, and be held in the second Floor Senior's Centre.  This is open for any girl from Kindergarten to 12th Grade would be interested in one of the Bogota Troops.  Trinity Lutheran Church in Bogota will have their " Blessing of the Animals" service . at 10:30a.
