Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the month of December starting on Sunday-1-December. Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances.     Monday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -16- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The Bogota Public  Library will have their Youth's Sewing Club meeting.  This is  open to  Students ages 9-18.  This will teach anyone the art of sewing. There will be a chance to learn machine, and hand sewing as well as shown different project and types of material.  The Bogota Junior / Senior High School will induct it's next class to the National  Honor Society. Students from the High School grades will be recognized for having that met the high standards of the  National  Honor Society.
    These  Students will have  met the requirements include  for Scholarship: a cumulative GPA of 85,  3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent standard of excellence. Along with achievements  in   Community Service, Leadership, and overall Character. The ceremony will take place in the Bogota High School Auditorium and begin at 6:00p

    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. The Bogota Recreation Commission will host its annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony. This will take place in front of Bogota Borough Hall  located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. The Tree Lighting is schedule to take place at 7:00p with the assistance of a special guest.  Cookies and Hot Chocolate will be served after the ceremony at the West Broad St. Fire House.

 The Chief Justice White Council of the Knights of Columbus will host a Breakfast with Santa. This will start at 8:30a and be held at their hall located at 829 Windsor Rd. Teaneck, NJ. Tickets are $10.00 for anyone over 12 years old. Students aged 5-12 are $5.00 with children under 4 years old free of charge.  All Children attending will recieve a complementary 5x7 photo with Santa.  They will also be collecting for the Toys for Tots program.

 The Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy will be premiering the movie of  BPESYA Class #08. The Curtain time of 7:00p, and will take place in the Cedar Lane Cinemas in teaneck, NJ. Admission is free, and is  open to the Public. This film chronicles the day to day experiences of the Cadets who made up  Class #08 in the Summer of 2019. It follows them from Orientation Day to their Graduation Ceremonies. This is a record of what it is to be apart of one of the finest Summer Youth Academies in Northern New Jersey.
      Before and after the showing refreshments along with  BPESYA merchandise will be available for purchase , with all proceeds going to fund the Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy Class #09 that will be in the Summer of 2020. The Bogota Music Dept. will present their Winter Concert starting at 6:30p.  This will  performances by the Concert band and the Jazz band. Also performing will be the Student  Choir,  and the Women's A Cappella group.  There will be no admission charge, it is ask that anyone attending please bring a new and unwrapped present to donate to the YAC's Toys for Tots drive..This will be held in the High School Auditorium located on the first Floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. At this meeting members are to bring a recipe from this month book, and serve it to the other members as a potluck dinner.  The Bogota Public Library will offer an AARP  Defensive Driving Course. This is designed for drivers over the age of 50 and will explain update driving rules and teach defensive driving techniques. The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a. También habrá Historias leídas en español en este momento. This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner.    The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

 The Black Box Performing Arts Center will host an New Year's Eve Comedy Night.  Scheduled to perform are Sandy Ehlers, John Mclellan, and  Chip Ambrogio.  Doors will open at 9:00p with the show starting at 9:30p. This will take place at the Black Box Performing Arts Center located at 49 E. Palisade Ave Englewood NJ .
