Bogota Varsity Sports

 29-April-2021
 On Thursday-29-April the ball clubs from Bogota hosted those from Cresskill. The Saddle Brook/ Bogota Baseball team played the Cougars on the Feigel Field baseball Diamond.  The home team would score twice in the bottom of the first inning.  They would add one more run in the third inning. Pitching by Paul Figueroa kept the Cougars from crossing the plate and Saddle Brook/ Bogota earn a 3-0 win. Their record is now 6-0. 
  Starting pitcher Paul Figueroa, pitched a complete game for the win . He would give up only 3 hits and record 10 Strike-outs. Michael Garbarino and Jaun- Carlos Castillo would have one Run Batted In each.  Jon Dempsey would hit a double. Jonathan Parra had one Stolen Base.
  Cresskill's Bryan Messinger would have 9 Strike-outs. With Ronald Presta recording 2 Strike-outs in relief. Rich Miraldi had 2 Stolen Basses with Michael Tuohy, and Daniel Ferrara each getting one. 
   Saddle Brook/ Bogota next play on Monday 3-May  when they travel to Hawthorne Christian Academy. The first pitch is scheduled for  4:00p





   The Bogota Lady Bucs played the Lady Cougars  on Lady Buc Field in Olsen Park.   The game would be scoreless into the bottom half of the second inning. Bogota would then take a 1-0 lead.  This was a result of Angelina Buhler leading off the inning with a triple and scoring on a Briana Moncho ground out They would add to that in the third inning and have a 3-0  advantage through  four innings of play. Cresskill would score three  run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 3 -3.  Bogota would take the lead back with a single run in the home half of the inning. The Lady Cougars would then score  two run in the top of the seventh inning to have their first lead of the game at 5-4.  In the bottom of the seventh the Lady Bucs' Amber Vazquez would draw a walk. Angelina Buhler would reach first base on a fielders choice.  This moved Ms. Vazquez to second base. A passed ball would move both runners into scoring position. Bogota would tie the game as Amber Vazquez came home. Two batters later, and the bases loaded a single to left field, by Joana Tineo, would bring Angelina Buhler in  with the winning run.  Bogota would end up with a 6-5 win. The Lady Bucs record is now 2-1.  
 Amber Vazquez would pitch a complete game for the win. She would record 9 Strike-out. 
  They next play on Saturday-1-May at Hudson Catholic. the first Pitch is scheduled for 11:00a
