Bogota Basketball

 Results of Bogota Varsity basketball from Monday-22- February.
  The Men’s Basketball Bucs traveled to Saddle River Day School to play the rebels. A close first quarter saw the home team ahead 16-14 after eight minutes. The next quarter had Bogota continues their scoring while keeping the Rebels at by. The Bucs would take a 31-25 lead into halftime.  After the restart Saddle River’s offense took over the game the game. The retook the lead in the third quarter and finish with a  77-63 win. Bogota’s record is now 4-4. The Bucs were lead by Ashanti Caviness with 22 Points and Taj Collins with 3 Three Point Baskets. Saddle River’s Ryan Cassels  had a game high with 26 Points. Bogota’s next game is scheduled for Wednesday-24-February  at New Milford. The start time will be 4:00p with the Junior Varsity  game to follow. Only a limited number home team Parents are allowed to  attend games in person.
  The  Bogota Lady Bucs hosted the Ridgefield Lady Royals on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym.  Scoring did not start until well over two minutes from the beginning of the game. Late in the quarter  Bogota would go on a six point run and held a 14-9 lead at the first break. In the second quarter play was starting to get more physical.  The Lady Royals would construct at 9-4 run of their own and tie the game at 18  just before three minutes into the second quarter.  Soon after  Nakayla Fields would score from beyond the arc and put Bogota back on top 21-18. In a reflection of the currents time Bogota Head Coach Christina Minieri  quickly sanitized her hands before congratulating Ms. Fields on her play. The Lady Bucs would maintain that lead for the rest of the game. Bogota took a 34-25 advantage into Half Time. The restart had Bogota open their biggest lead of the day at 17 Points. It also saw the continuation of the physical play.  This led to Coach Minieri wondering aloud about the safety of the Player on the court.  The Lady Royals cut their defect to under 10 points once before the halfway mark of the final quarter. Bogota would again take a double digit lead, and finish the game with a 57-47 win. 
  The Lady Bucs record is now 5-3 . Kylie Cabana was the game’s high scorer with 36 Points  Maryann Gesmundo would 2 Three Point Basket for Bogota.  Ridgefield’s Livia Ramos led her team with 32 points and Razan Wadi had a game high of 3  Three point Baskets. 
  The Lady Bucs will next play on Friday-26-February when they travel to Ridgefield. This is scheduled to have a 4:00p start. Only  a limited number home team Parents are allowed to  attend games in person.
