Ridgfield Park Basketball


  On Friday-25-February the Ridgfield Park Men's Basketball Scarlets hosted the Dwight-Morrow Maroon Raiders on the Dr. John C Richardson Court. 
     Ridgfield Park would score the first  points of the game and lead 2-0. Dwight-Morrow go on a 14-1 point run midway into the first quater. The Scarlet put together nine straight points of their own to close with in a basket of the guest.  The Maroon Raiders were able to stay ahead  and had a 17-12 lead at the end of the quarter.  The next eight minute had the Scarlets double their point total from the previous  quarter.  Their effort would see the game tied at 24 going into half time.
   The third quater also was tie with less than a minute to go. Dwight-Morrow converted a foul shot and a basket from the floor to have a 38-35 by the three quater time mark.  The Maroon Raiders then opened a 12 point lead in the final quater. The Scarlets would whittle the margin down to just two points with eighteen seconds left. Being force to foul to slow the clock  Ridgfield Park watch two Dwight -Morrow free throws found their mark at the 13 second mark. Dwight -Morrow's defense was able to hold on and they  left with a 56-52 win.
  The Scarlets' record is now 8-4.  Jenci Reyes 33  Points for Ridgefield Park. The  Maroon Raiders were led by Mike Byfield who had 17 points including 4 Three point Baskets. 
  The Men's team will next play on Monday-1-March when they travel to Dwight -Morrow 4:00p. Junior Varsity game at 5:30p.  Only  a limited number home team Parents are allowed to attend games in person
