Lady Bucs Volleyball

   On Thursday-9-September the Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball played the Blue Eagle from Immaculate Heart Academy. This would be the first game of the season for both teams, and the Home Opener for Bogota in Speary Gym. Bogota would serve first and win the first three points of the opening set. When Immaculate Heart Academy get the service back they would go on a 7 point run. The Blue Eagles would not trail for the rest of the match.  The visitors use strong serving from Deanna Whelpley and Grace Coughlin to keep the Bogota offense from full setting up.  Immaculate Heart put together scoring runs of 5, or 7 points at a time. The Lady Bucs were not able to match that output with the first set finishing by a score of 25-15 for the Blue Eagles.

   Immaculate Heart served first in the second set and scored first. Bogota would answer that with a point of their own. The teams traded score and the match saw a three to three tie. The Blue Eagles then scored the next eight of the next ten points. They would double the scoring and to make the final score 25-15 in the second set and a 2-0 match win. Bogota start the season with a 0-1 record.

  The Blue Eagles were led by Brookelyn Talmadge with 10 Kills and a match high of 4 Blocks. Ashanna Caviness lead all scores with 12 kills for Bogota.  Immaculate Heart's Deanna Whepley had a match high with 10 Service Points with Grace Coughlin recording a high of 4 Aces. Bogota's Mia Pimental had 15 assists and 3 Service Points for Bogota. Kalena Stavish score a match high of 27 assist for the Blue Eagles  Gyanna Hernandez also had 3 Service Points with one Ace for Bogota

  Bogota next plays on Friday-10-September against  Palisades Park. This will take place in Speary Gym and have a first serve at 4:00p. For Live stream coverage of this games can be found on the district you tube channel at:  Bogota BoE
