Scarlets Basketball


 On Saturday-6- March the Ridgefield Park Men's Basketball Scarlets played their final game of the 2021 season.  This was against the Leonia Lions on the Dr. John C Richardson Court.  Leonia would start the game connecting on three straight Three Point baskets and have a 9-2 lead. The Scarlets would answer with two of their own and trail 8-11 at the end of the first quarter. The next eight minutes began with Ridgefield Park scoring twice from beyond the arc and take over the lead 14-13.  The Scarlets kept adding to their advantage as the half time approached.  By the intermission Ridgefield Park had their widest lead ,of the half, 25-17.
   At the beginning of the second half the home team's lead would grow to nine points. By three quater time the Lions closed the margin to 4 points. This was part of a 9-5 run that the visitors would used to make the game closer.  With just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation  Ridgefield Park  built a double digit lead and finished their game with 49-37 win.  AJ Huddson had a team of 11 Points for Ridgefield Park. The Lions' Lorenzo Duhon recorded a game high of 19 points. 
  The Scarlets end their season with a 11-5 record and first place in the American Division.  Jenci Reyes would finish his High career with  378* Varsity Points.
